As I continue to deepen my relationship with the land, I notice the energy shifting as Fall begins to arrive. The creek becomes quieter, the water lower and more still. Fallen leaves create little islands across the water.

The wind becomes more present in the landscape. I can hear it rustling through the trees, creating a sound like ocean waves. I observe how the wind moves the fallen leaves across the water.
As I continue to sit there, feeling the wind and taking in the beauty this land offers, I set an intention to connect with the land and offer a healing song. As I begin to tune in with my surroundings, a song naturally arises through my voice.
See if you can catch a glimpse of a hummingbird that visited me while I was singing. I love that it shared this special moment with me. Its unexpected presence brought me so much joy and that joy carried through the song. A little moment of magic I’ll always treasure.
This experience helped me realize that sometimes it takes one person to notice, witness, listen and appreciate what is present at that moment. That moment of recognition, connection, and reciprocity is what creates intimacy and healing, where we become both the observer and the one being witnessed.
Perhaps that is the beauty of presence and resonance: to truly see and be seen, to listen and be heard, and to meet one another in the fullness of what is happening in the moment.
Listening Meditation in Nature
Last month, in the Awaken & Reclaim Your Voice Workshop, one of our practices was to find a place in nature, sit down, and simply listen.
I invite you to do the same.
Find a quiet place in nature. Notice the details around you. Feel the textures. What do you smell? What do you hear?
Bring your heart to listen. Perhaps a song will come through you to harmonize with the rhythm of nature around you.
Happy New Moon in Libra.
May this new lunar cycle invite us into deeper listening, harmony, connection, and reciprocity — with ourselves, with one another, and with the land.
Peace & Light,
