Songs from the Living Earth

I return to places in nature over time, sitting quietly, listening, contemplating, and allowing whatever wants to transpire to emerge. These are spontaneous expressions that arise through a living dialogue between my inner world and the natural world around me. Sometimes what emerges is song, poetry, an image, a feeling, or a reflection. Each is an unfolding of presence, listening, reciprocity, and connection with the living Earth. Through these encounters, I am learning to know places as beings and landscapes with which a relationship can gradually deepen. I listen for what each place might invite, awaken, or reveal, and allow the experience to shape what is shared. The songs, poems, and reflections offered here are traces of those encounters—an inner self meeting the greater world, and something new arising in the space between. I share them as invitations for others to pause, listen, and perhaps feel their own relationship with the living Earth.

Fall Is Here, So Is the Wind

Feeling the wind and taking in the beauty this land offers, I set an intention to connect with the land and offer a healing song. As I begin to tune in with my surroundings, a song naturally arises through my voice. See if you can catch a glimpse of a hummingbird that visited me while…

  • Intimacy with Myself and the Land

Intimacy with Myself and the Land

Intimacy with the land, for me, is taking time to sit by the creek, listen to the sounds around me. I like to honor my connection with the land through drumming and singing. Sometimes, I set an intention to connect with the land or receive wisdom from it. Other times, I simply want to show…

    Story of the Land, Malaysia

Sharing this song & poem that I received on Tioman Island, Malaysia. I could feel the vibration…

Nature Song – The Creek Knows My Heart

I was sitting by the creek, singing with my new instrument, the Sansula, in a special place I’ve been visiting for the past couple of years. It is a natural spring pond, a place where the Ohlone people once lived, with a continuous flow of water that never seems to dry up. Sitting there and…

  • Drumming & Singing In Nature, Upper Penitencia Creek

Drumming & Singing In Nature, Upper Penitencia Creek

Alum Rock is a park that I have returned over and over again for many years. I felt called to step into the shallow water of the creek. Standing barefoot, I began drumming slowly, inviting myself into deeper connection with the water element and the surrounding. I listened and waited for what was ready to…
