Monthly Sound & Voice Ceremony with Sheau

Since April, I have been hosting Monthly Sound & Voice Ceremony at Soulful Sanctuary with a small intimate group.

For this month, we started the evening by sharing about ourselves and the intentions of our gathering in a ceremonial space that I facilitated. We chanted So Hum mantra together to harmonize and unify our energy as a group and for grounding. I loved witnessing everyone using their voice in such an intentional way. There is something powerful about bringing the vibration of our voices together through this beautiful mantra.

So Hum is a Sanskrit mantra that affirms oneness, connecting the individual self with the divine or universal consciousness.
So Hum
Shivo Hum
Anando Hum

“I am That” (universal consciousness),
“I am Shiva” (pure consciousness/reality),
 “I am Bliss” (divine joy).

So what is a Sound & Voice Ceremony?
It’s an intentional space that weaves together intuitive sound and voice with deep presence and connection–a space where you pause the outside world to connect with yourself and the quiet stillness within. It’s a journey inward to reconnect with yourself, spirits, ancestors and something bigger than yourself.

Within this space, we surrender and receive the sound and vibration of the present moment, allowing it to guide us on a journey that unfolds as we listen to the flow of sound and feel the vibrations in our bodies.

We gather as a community for connection, sharing and mutual support–setting intentions for what we would like to receive and hold in our lives.

The Sound & Voice Ceremony is centered on the approach of Nada Yoga. Nada means “Sound or Tones”, it also carries the meaning of current, river or flow. Nada Yoga is the practice of deep listening to the flow of sound in an intentional space with deep presence. Within that we can listen to ourselves and connect with the greater whole of life and universe.

I would also like to take a moment to express my gratitude to my teachers, Jaya and Hayley, at Sound Ceremony in Lake Atitlán, where I received my 100-hour Sound Healing Certification. It was there that I learned and experienced the depth of sound healing, ceremony, Nada Yoga, and listening meditation. The teachings I received continue to live through the way I hold and facilitate these spaces, and I am deeply grateful for their guidance.

Each ceremony is unique. I sing and play intuitively each time responding in the moment to the energy of the space. I weave intuitive singing and tonal sounds throughout the experience, creating a deeply attuned field that supports the body in softening, opening, and grounding–encourage subtle inner integration.

You’re welcome to listen to audio segments from the April & May Sound & Voice Ceremonies to experience the vibration of the sounds that were shared.

How my intuitive singing journey began?

My voice spontaneously activated during a home dancing practice back in May 2024. I began expressing through intuitive sounds and tones daily, and on July 4th, while I was watching the July 4th fireworks in celebration of Independence Day, my first song came through.

Since then, my voice has continue to evolve through daily practice, inner work, my connection with the Akashic Records, and somatic embodiment practices.

I feel deeply grateful to have reconnected with my soul voice. It has been both empowering and healing. After my recent time at Lake Atitlan, it became clear to me that my voice is my medicine. What began as a spontaneous activation has now become a daily devotion–to sing and use my voice in an authentic, embodied, and empowered way.

I feel honored and humbled to share my voice in support of others reconnecting with themselves through the medicine of sound.

Some people refer to this style of intuitive singing or speaking as “Light Language”. Historically, a similar phenomenon is known as glossolalia (speaking in tongues), described in early Christian texts like the New Testament as speaking in unknown or non-existent language during spiritual states. People believe glossolalia is a form of divine communication-either speaking a heavenly language or being inspired by a spiritual force.

Modern “light language” often resemble this, though they are understood as intuitive, soul-based communication. It’s also expressed through sound, tone, and vibration rather than structured language. It’s a felt experience that bypass the logical mind. It’s multimodal expression that includes singing, speaking, writing symbols, or even movement. “Light language” is generally understood as a form of glossolalia.

For me, this expression is a direct pathway to intuition and flow. It allows me to express emotions, move energy and transform heaviness into strength, clarity and inspirations. Through sound, I can ground, uplift, and reconnect with myself on a deep level. Sometimes, I also sign with hand gestures when I sing or speak in intuitive vocal. Very occasionally, I will write in symbols.

It’s a gift to walk this path and share it with others as they awaken and reclaim their own voice.

I invite you to join me next month on June 7th for the monthly Sound & Voice Ceremony. Take this time to slow down, receive and connect with yourself and discover the power of sound and vibration and its alchemical effect on your whole being.
