I attended a 100 hours Sound Ceremony training in Guatemala this March. Our wonderful teachers are Jaya and Hayley at Sound Ceremony at Lake Atitlan.

It’s a beautiful & peaceful setting by the lake facing the volcanoes. They were 9 people total who attended and it was a lovely intimate group. Every morning I walked by the lake to take in the beauty of this sacred land and sang to connect with Mother Earth.

Everyday we learned about mantra chanting, listening meditation, vocal practices, Bhakti yoga, explored different instruments and received sound bath each day. We also did a practicum towards the end of training and I got to collab with a friend in the group to provide sound bath for the whole group. We also learned & practiced how to give 1:1 sound healing.

I explored singing with crystal singing bowls for the first time and I really loved it. Another instrument that I like to sing with is shrunti box. I plan to add these to my instrument collection, so I can start using them in my workshops, private sessions and sound ceremonies.
Another special moment is to experience Mayan Fire Ceremony on Spring Equinox. My friend invited me to her land to make an offering. We drummed together to call in the prayers and set intentions for the day.
