Awaken & Reclaim Your Voice – Part 2

Warming the voice is key to finding comfort in our own vocal sound. Before each of your daily Voice Medicine practices, please warm the voice for 5-10 mins.

This mantra is a simple way to soften the body, open your voice, and allow sound to move what’s been held inside. It also helps with grounding and calming the mind. A great way to cultivate deep connection with yourself and your voice.

Gayatri Mantra
Om Bhuur-Bhuvah Svah
Tat-Savitur-Varennyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhiimahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Pracodayaat

Gayatri Mantra Meaning
We meditate on the Supreme Sun whose light pervades this world (Bhuh), the Heaven (Bhuvah) and the next world (Suvah). May your great light guide and illuminate our intellect and guide us on the path of truth.

We return to our Chakra Toning practice and explore advancing the practice as we move the pitch up and down the scale of the Key of A.

Chakra Toning Part 2

Expanding upon the practice of Chakra Toning, we are ready to explore Intuitive Singing. This is through connecting with our heart and finding our Soul Song, as we free up the voice and our ability to express what is being felt within the body, mind and spirit. Be open and curious about what comes through without judgement and analyzing.

This practice is fundamental to begin moving into the spontaneous and improvised expression of who and what we are through feeling, surrendering and connecting.

To allow ourselves to vocally express what is moving within us at any given moment is the basis of true Voice Medicine. Where our voice becomes a vehicle for authentic expressions, emotional regulation, inner alignment, and soul remembrance.

The video practice starts with shruti drone and my vocal, then in the middle, it shifts into just the drone so you can explore singing by yourself.

Find a place in nature, sit down and listen to the sound around you. Observe the details of what is around you, appreciate the beauty of Mother Earth. Feel the textures of the things around you. What do you smell?

Bring your heart to listen and perhaps a song will come through you to harmonize with the rhythm of nature around you.

Feel free to journal or record your experience to share with the group. Enjoy your nature time!
